Watch Battery Replacement Near You
We replace watch batteries at all of our locations. In most cases, we will be able to replace your battery while you wait.
When is it time for a watch battery replacement?
There are a few telltale signs that your watch needs a new battery. The first (and most obvious) is that your watch stops working altogether. When your watch quits on you, the battery is the most common culprit.
But even before it gets to that point, there will probably be a few signs that your watch battery is deteriorating. The second hand may begin moving in short, jerky bursts rather than in a continuous, smooth motion. The watch dial may look dimmer than usual. Timekeeping errors are another sure sign that something is off with your watch.
Where should I get a watch battery replaced?
You should always get your watch battery replaced by a trusted jeweler near you. Watches are delicate machines, and though a battery replacement may seem like a simple procedure, it’s easy for something to go wrong in the hands of an amateur.
Instead, get a quick battery replacement from a local expert. If you live in Savannah, Georgia come talk to the watch repair experts at Levy Jewelers. We'll have your watch running again in no time.
Watch Band Adjustment Near You
Visit any of our Levy Jewelers locations for a watch band adjustment. As with watch battery replacements, watch band resizing can often be done while you wait.
How should a watch fit?
The simple answer is, your watch should fit comfortably. It should not be so loose that it slides off your wrist, nor so tight that it digs into your skin. If your watch threatens to slip off while you wash your hands, it’s too loose. If it leaves red marks around your wrist, it’s too tight.
Here’s a simple test: see if you can fit your index finger between your wrist and your watch band. You should have enough space for your finger to fit, but not so much space that you can wiggle it around.
How are watch bands adjusted?
Wondering how to adjust a watch band? When it comes to metal watch bracelets, the process is simpler than you may think. A jeweler will first measure your wrist, and then will either add or remove metal links to the band until it fits you properly. Your watch will look exactly the same as it did before, with the added bonus of a better fit.
Unfortunately, we cannot adjust other types of watch bands (including leather straps). Thankfully, we offer a wide variety of leather watch bands in many sizes, so we can help you order the correct size.
Watch Repair
For more complex watch repairs, we will send your watch to the original manufacturer to ensure you get the specialized service you need.
Watch Pressure Tester
We are proud to offer an in-store watch pressure tester at our downtown Savannah location.
Many watches are water resistant up to a certain depth. Over time, however, wear and tear can impact on your watch's original water resistance. A watch pressure tester is a safe way to determine precisely how water resistant your watch currently is. Using this machine, we can test your watch's water resistance without ever getting it wet.
How Does a Watch Pressure Tester Work?
We will place your watch in a dry, high pressure chamber to mimic the effects of water. From there, we can safely observe how your watch performs at different depths, and determine which parts may need to be fixed or replaced to restore it to its original level of water resistance.
